The Hairdryer Test:  If you have a home electric outlet (120v) near where you park your car overnight, and if you can run a hairdryer from it, that's all the EV charger you'll need.  Cost?  About $1.60 to fill up.

POP QUIZ:

How many MINUTES per day do you DAILY drive your car ?  If it's 80 MINUTES or less (about 40 to 60 miles), this could be the car you didn't know you needed.  And for the few long trips & family trips you take?  Drive the land yacht.

ANOTHER EV START-UP?!

NO - JUST A PIVOT

We Learned EVs:
By Building EVs

We upgraded the Corbin Sparrow and then built the Myers Motors NmG, a 75-mph, 1-person, EV that drives like a car but is classified as a motorcycle because it has 3 wheels.

Hundreds loved these (mostly) 40 mile range vehicles.  Non-buyers told us they wanted a 2nd seat for the occasional passenger and I realized we needed a 4th wheel for better stability before I would let my daughters drive one of our EVs on a daily basis.  And so, we pivoted to a 2-seat, 4-wheel, 75-mph, EV.

Micro-Factories:
Not Billion $ Factories

Like you, we thought it was billion$ to build cars.  If you build 100's of thousands of cars, it is.  But if you build 325 short-range EVs, it's not.

The Champion EV is lean-designed so two people can assemble one EV, with light hand tools, in one shift.

We ditched painted metal body panels because 1) thermoform (TF) body panels don't dent or rust,  and 2)  TF tooling cost is 1% of Big Auto's cost of metal bodies and painting.  That's better for you.

A Replica EV:
DOT APPROVED

I failed at raising the $10's of millions the DOT requires (air bags, etc.). to move from building 75 mph 3-wheel EVs  to 75 mph 4-wheel EVs

But then we had a breakthrough.  The Department of Transportation, in a move similar to that of  Japan's kei car regulations, created a path to build 325 replica cars per year, while using, basically, 3-wheel regulations.

The replica we have been approved to build is the 1952 Austin Champ.  For 2027, 325 is all we can build.

The Myers Motors Replica EV:
DOT APPROVED

I (Dana) failed at raising the $10's of millions the DOT requires to move from building a highway legal 3- wheel vehicle to one with 4 wheels (air bags, etc.)

But then we had a breakthrough.  The Department of Transportation, in a move similar to that of  Japan's kei car regulations, created a path to build 325 replica cars per year, while using, basically, 3-wheel regulations.

The safety history of the Corbin Sparrow / Myers NmG is that no fatalities or serious injuries occurred:  even with the vehicle rolling at highway speeds, being rear-ended by a Mercedes, or running into trees or trucks.

Our replica car will have all that ... and with 4 wheels, it will have much better stability, especially in bad weather.

The replica the DOT has approved for Myers Motors (via Myers EV) is the 1952 Austin Champ.  For 2027 325 is all we can build.
